Action is set to get underway every Wednesday evening at Click's Gaming Center and select LAN centers around the United States, Canada, and Mexico. AboutThe DotA Game Night consists of weekly competitive play between teams (3 vs. 3) located at LAN centers across the United States, Canada, and Mexico.Play will occur every Tuesday evening from January 27 to March 3, with playoffs all-day Saturday, March 7. This period of time includes Pre-Season, Regular Season, and Playoffs. Teams compete in either the Western Conference or Eastern Conference. The Eastern Conference plays from 6 PM to 9 PM Central Time. Click's is in the Eastern Conference. For every match played, teams earn points. The points are used to rank teams for the Playoffs. See the Rankings page for more information. The competition is coordinated using IRC, a popular chat program. Only LAN center staff should be connected to IRC. IRC can be accessed through the mIRC client or by going to www.igames.org/irc In total, $1,000 in cash prizes will be awarded among top placing teams! RulesTo download and print the Official Rules and Game Play Rules click below:Season 1 Rules: Official Rules // Game Play Rules Quick Format Overview: Format: 3 vs. 3 Team Ladder West Server: Lordaeron (US West) Game Play – Character Restrictions: None Players can select their characters all at once. There is no hero pick or removal process. Players may share any and all items that the game allows. Creep-skipping (a.k.a. 'backdooring') will not be allowed. Allied creeps must be within sight of an enemy building before players can start to attack it. Players may continue to attack buildings once their creeps are dead, but only until such time they leave the area or base. If creep-skeeping occurs players are asked to continue to play until the end of the match and to file a dispute afterwards with a presiding Administrator. Players may block creeps in any manner (using their character, items, spells, etc.) ----- Replays/Recordings: Players should ensure they record and save replays of all Matches. Matches should be saved at every crucial point, including after First Blood, tower takedowns, and large battles resulting in multiple hero kills. If the game crashes or any players disconnect, play will resume from the last save point. A Team that has not saved the replay cannot file a Match dispute with the Official. The Official has the right to request the replay. If a Player refuses to provide the replay or cannot provide the replay that they should reasonably have then a penalty and possible forfeit of the Match can be imposed by the Official depending on the circumstances. iGames reserves the right to have outside review of any Match either live or after the fact. ScheduleSeason 1 Schedule: Pre-Season (Tuesday January 27) Regular Season Week 1 (Tuesday February 3) Playoffs (All Day - Saturday March 7) RankingsFor each regular season match played teams earn Ranking Points. Ranking Points are used to determine eligible opponents and advancement to Playoffs.Ranking Calculation: The ranking points system is a level based structure where you get a percentage of your opponent’s points when you beat them. For each match played, the team earns the following points based on the difference in total point accumulation levels at the start of the regular season Match. (“Match Nights - Regular Season”). Teams will earn 5 Points for a loss Teams will earn 25 points for a draw 0 - 2 Levels Apart: Earn 25% of opponent's points 3 - 5 Levels Apart: Earn 20% of opponent's points 6 - 8 Levels Apart: Earn 15% of opponent's points 9 - 10 Levels Apart: Earn 10% of opponent's points 11+ Levels Apart: Earn 5% of opponent's points
Playoffs: At the conclusion of the regular season (after 5 weeks of play): - Eight teams will automatically advance to the playoffs for the opportunity to win a share of the cash prizes. The number of teams advancing to the playoffs from the Western and Eastern Conferences will be relative to the number of teams that competed in each Conference. --- For example: If 40 teams competed in the Eastern Conference and 30 teams competed in the Western Conference, then 5 teams ((40/(40+30))*8) from the East would qualify and 3 teams ((30/(30+40))*8) from the West would qualify. - All other teams will be eliminated from the competition.
