About

The DotA Game Night consists of weekly competitive play between teams (3 vs. 3) located at LAN centers across the United States, Canada, and Mexico.

Play will occur every Tuesday evening from January 27 to March 3, with playoffs all-day Saturday, March 7. This period of time includes Pre-Season, Regular Season, and Playoffs.

Teams compete in either the Western Conference or Eastern Conference. The Eastern Conference plays from 6 PM to 9 PM Central Time.  Click's is in the Eastern Conference.

For every match played, teams earn points. The points are used to rank teams for the Playoffs. See the Rankings page for more information.

The competition is coordinated using IRC, a popular chat program. Only LAN center staff should be connected to IRC. IRC can be accessed through the mIRC client or by going to www.igames.org/irc

In total, $1,000 in cash prizes will be awarded among top placing teams!

Game Play –

Character Restrictions: None
Item Restrictions: None

Players can select their characters all at once. There is no hero pick or removal process.

Players may share any and all items that the game allows.

Creep-skipping (a.k.a. 'backdooring') will not be allowed. Allied creeps must be within sight of an enemy building before players can start to attack it. Players may continue to attack buildings once their creeps are dead, but only until such time they leave the area or base. If creep-skeeping occurs players are asked to continue to play until the end of the match and to file a dispute afterwards with a presiding Administrator.

Players may block creeps in any manner (using their character, items, spells, etc.)

-----

Replays/Recordings:

Players should ensure they record and save replays of all Matches. Matches should be saved at every crucial point, including after First Blood, tower takedowns, and large battles resulting in multiple hero kills. If the game crashes or any players disconnect, play will resume from the last save point.

A Team that has not saved the replay cannot file a Match dispute with the Official. The Official has the right to request the replay. If a Player refuses to provide the replay or cannot provide the replay that they should reasonably have then a penalty and possible forfeit of the Match can be imposed by the Official depending on the circumstances. iGames reserves the right to have outside review of any Match either live or after the fact.

Teams will earn 5 Points for a loss

Playoffs:

At the conclusion of the regular season (after 5 weeks of play):

- Eight teams will automatically advance to the playoffs for the opportunity to win a share of the cash prizes. The number of teams advancing to the playoffs from the Western and Eastern Conferences will be relative to the number of teams that competed in each Conference.

--- For example: If 40 teams competed in the Eastern Conference and 30 teams competed in the Western Conference, then 5 teams ((40/(40+30))*8) from the East would qualify and 3 teams ((30/(30+40))*8) from the West would qualify.

- All other teams will be eliminated from the competition.
