About

The Left 4 Dead Game Night consists of weekly competitive play between teams (4 vs. 4) located at LAN centers across the United States, Canada, and Mexico.

Play will occur every Monday evening (6 PM to 9 PM Central Time) from January 26 to March 23. This period of time includes Pre-Season, Regular Season, and Playoffs.

For every match played, teams earn points. The points are used to rank teams for the Playoffs. See the Rankings page for more information.

The competition is coordinated using IRC, a popular chat program. Only LAN center staff should be connected to IRC. IRC can be accessed through the mIRC client or by going to www.gamesurge.net/chat

In total, $1,000 in cash prizes will be awarded among top placing teams!

General Settings:

Versus Mode

Format: 4 vs 4 (must play with at least 3 players on a team)
Server Difficulty: Normal
Server Settings: Default

The team with the highest score at the completion of the set of maps is the winner of the match. Play out the assigned set, but not the entire campaign. Only certain maps are assigned each week.

See the Schedule page for the assigned set of maps for each week.

Tanks are not permitted to block the path with objects.

Survivors may proceed through the maps anyway they like as long as they do not exploit any game bugs/exploits. Survivors may use explosives to blow Tanks off of buildings.

Safe Room Delays: Once a chapter is started Teams playing as Survivors must leave the Safe Room within 3 minutes otherwise they may be issued a penalty for delay of the game.

Overtime

In the case of a Tie match during the Regular Season, a Match will be recorded as a Draw.

During Playoffs only when the Match is tied, then teams play an Overtime which consists only of the opening chapter of a Campaign with the Team with the top score winning. If the game remains tied, the Teams play the following chapter in the campaign, and so on, until a winner is determined. During the Regular Season a tie is recorded simply as a tie.

Recordings

Players should record replays (demos) of all matches. iGames reserves the right to request replays to be sent to an Admin to resolve a dispute.
